Skin Oasis Dermatology is 2 Years Old!

December 22, 2016, Skin Oasis Dermatology will be 2 years old.  What an accomplishment!  Skin Oasis Dermatology has grown to over 6,000 patients.  Our goal is to treat our patients with integrity and respect.  During the past two years, we have had the privilege of meeting and treating amazing people.  Each person has their own story.  My life has been greatly enriched.

In addition to being a doctor, I now wear the hat of a business owner.  This new hat has required a steep learning curve, sacrifice, faith, determination, and fearlessness in the face of many Goliaths.  Every battle has taught me many lessons and I am still standing.

Owning my own practice has been my dream since I entered medical school in 1995.  After graduating from my dermatology residency program in 2007, I took the safe, smart, practical and prudent path, I worked for Dr. Debra Coats-Walton at Aesthetics Dermatology in Bowie, MD for 1 year and with Dr. Robyn James and Dr. Jeffrey Weddington at Advanced Dermatology of Southern Maryland for 7 years.  I owe much gratitude to these great individuals as they nurtured me as a young doctor and allowed me to practice medicine under their covering.  I loved working in these practices.  But, the dream would not go away.  I tried my best to ignore it.  I did not want to embark along the scary, slippery, uncertain, and opposite of smart path.  Finally as the power of the vision overtook the fear, I stepped out on faith December 22, 2014 and hung my Skin Oasis Dermatology shingle.

I feel blessed that I am able to work in my passion of treating skin and to live out my dream of owning my own practice.  I want to say a special thank you to all my patients who have entrusted me with their care.  I also want to say a thank you to my family and friends who have stuck by me and supported me during this journey.  Heres to another 25 years!
