Keralase Q & A

What is KeraLase?

KeraLase is a nonsurgical hair restoration procedure combining the technology of Lutronic Ultra laser and the proprietary growth factor serum, KeraFactor. Lutronic Ultra is used to create nonablative microchannels in the area of thinning hair, and then the KeraFactor serum is massaged into the scalp.

Peptides and growth factors in the KeraFactor serum help to create a nutrient-rich environment while increasing blood supply to the hair follicles. This helps to transition hair follicles in the resting phase into their growth phase enhancing regrowth in thinning areas.

KeraLase is safe for all complexions and hair types.

Can I benefit from KeraLase?

KeraLase is an innovative option for the treatment of hair loss or hair thinning in many circumstances. Hair loss may be triggered by a number of reasons. Regardless of the cause, hair loss may be a frustrating situation that impacts your confidence.

Dr. Miles often uses KeraLase to treat hair loss that comes from:

  • Stress
  • Hormone fluctuations
  • Genetics
  • Environmental factors

During your KeraLase consultation at Skin Oasis Dermatology, Dr. Miles will assess your scalp, your medical history, and your family history of hair loss. She will also discuss your type of hair loss and develop a treatment plan.

In many cases, KeraLase is an excellent treatment in preparation for a hair transplant or other hair growth stimulating procedures since it revitalizes your hair follicles.

What is the KeraLase treatment process like?

To prepare for your KeraLase appointment, wash and dry your hair. Do not apply any products, including gels, oils, etc, to your scalp or hair. Do not come with an installed weave or braids.

Once the treatment starts, it takes about 20-30 minutes. Dr. Miles uses the laser device to create the microchannels, which is not painful. You might report a tingling sensation or the feeling of warmth as the laser performs its function.

Following the laser treatment, KeraFactor serum, which contains growth factors, is massaged into your scalp. After your session, avoid washing the scalp for at least 24 hours.

Dr. Miles recommends that you undergo KeraLase treatments once every two weeks until you’ve completed six sessions total.

KeraLase hair restoration can have a significant positive impact on your scalp health and hair growth. Schedule your consultation by phone or online at Skin Oasis Dermatology today.
